SUMMER READING RESOURCES
To help promote literacy and learning throughout the summer, you are invited to participate in the Appo School District summer reading program through the New Castle County Public Library System. While neither the school nor the pubic library can lend books at this time, there are a great deal of resources for you to find and read online through your devices, or even your phones!

WHERE CAN I FIND BOOKS?
Open Library — From the Internet Archive, this requires a free registration, but you can borrow almost any book you like (not just classics) and it’s broken down by grade and reading level to help.
JLG Digital — The collection of the Junior Library Guild, specially selected award-winning books that you can borrow from grades K-12.
Free Book Spot — Not the flashiest site, but lots of free books available to download in all categories.
Many Books — Lots of public domain classics, but check out the Editor’s Choice or Trending Books for more contemporary selections.
Booksie — All free, and all self published! You can browse or search by subject, but be warned, quality can vary a great deal with self-published materials.
Amazon Free Kindle Books — Whether you have a Kindle or not, you can use the free Kindle app on your device (with registration) to read there. Amazon keeps a list of their most popular paid and free titles. Also check out their limited time offer section to see what’s free there too!
