STEVIE WONDER  (1950) — American singer-songwriter and record producer.
STEPHEN COLBERT (1961) — American comedian, actor, late night talk show host, and political pundit.

 

TODAY IN HISTORY

1880 – Thomas Edison performs his first tests on an electric railway, the precursor of modern subways and trolleys, in Menlo Park, NJ.
1940 – German forces cross the Meuse River, beginning the Nazi conquest of France.
1989 – Groups of students occupy Tienanmen Square in Beijing, China and begin hunger strikes to protest against the oppressive government.  There will eventually be more than 1 million protesters gathered there.
